The client:

Affinion International Print Services bring a revolutionary approach to commercial printing that cuts costs, saves time and delivers unbeatable quality and flexibility.

The brief:

AIPS operates an automated production facility, with 12 production employees, and this was assessed on installation in 2012 of having peak production noise levels in excess of 25db. With the facility producing 9,000 content packs for postage and printing in excess of 60,000 colour images an hour it is not the quietest operation.

AIPs was looking for a solution to protect its employees.

The solution:

To ensure health and safety regulations are complied with and that employees hearing is protected, ForeComms advised that while quiet is desirable, as well as a regulatory requirement, it is not ideal for effective team work and communication across the 256 square metre facility.

ForeComms recommended an alternative solution that not only delivered the reduced noise levels but also provided ear protection. Two-way Sensear SM1X headsets have been introduced for employees to wear.

The Sensear work group headsets enable clear headset to headset communication in noisy industrial environments through a built in short range radio. Each headset has built in hearing protection and noise suppression technology so users are aware of their surroundings.

The result:

ForeComms has delivered a health and safety solution to the commercial printing firm.

“We were looking for hearing protection for our employees which did not reduce their ability to hear what was going on around them, and ForeComms has provided our print room employees with a perfect remedy for safe and easy communication which helps us to eliminate any risk of accidents in the workplace. We’re delighted with the service provided by the ForeComms division of Fore Solutions.”
