FREE Communication Equipment for NHS Departments

As the country’s NHS departments are yet again reaching breaking point, we want to do whatever we can to help out.

During the first lockdown we were able to help one of our local NHS departments, Southampton General Hospital, by providing some free two-way radio kit to improve working conditions. We are now in a position to extend this offer to more NHS departments so please do spread the word!

The Southampton ICU Story

One of the key objectives for Southampton General was to reduce the amount of PPE needed to safeguard patients in the Neurosciences ICU department. All staff there are required to wear full PPE every time they enter wards & private rooms. This was proving expensive & time-consuming.

Foresolutions provided the Neurosciences ICU department with Motorola DP4400 two-way radios to help reduce staff movements. The radios enable all staff in the department to communicate without the need for face-to-face conversations. We have also provided on-site training to ensure all the staff were comfortable with the system and its day-to-day use.

Advanced Critical Care Technologist/Healthcare Science Team Leader Sean Folan said: “Thanks to Foresolutions’ timely response, our team is now better equipped to support our patients in their recovery.”

The two-way radios also helped to safeguard the team and their colleagues from the current risks relating to Covid-19, he added:

“It is great to know that there are local businesses committed to supporting the NHS during the current crisis. “We look forward to working with Foresolutions on future initiatives to improve both the efficiency of our department and the experience we provide for our patients.”

Tom Ross, Managing Director of Foresolutions Ltd stated: "When we heard about Southampton General's situation we were keen to help in any way we could. In our position as one of the area's key specialist business communications providers it was a no-brainer to offer to help. With the NHS under such financial pressure and needing to better manage PPE and staff/patient safety, the supply of a complimentary radio system was a gesture we were ideally placed to offer. With Covid-19 now ravaging our NHS worse than before we want to extend this offer to other NHS providers. Please share widely so we can reach as many of those in need as possible."
